Conditions Osteopathy Can Help

Below is a list of conditions Osteopathic treatment can help, please also see below for the section on womens health.

During the sessions I will carry out a full case history and examination. For further information about what to expect during your treatment click here.

There is always a reason for pain and it is our job as osteopaths to help you understand why you are in pain.  We will advise about the preventative measures that can be taken. This includes postural advice, exercises to manage and prevent your pain and other lifestyle factors that may be contributing.

Treatment will be tailored to your individual needs and can vary from very gentle cranial and release techniques to stronger stretches, articulation and in some cases manipulation. You will always receive a full explanation of the diagnosis and treatment plan and all questions regarding the treatment will be welcome and answered fully.

Womens Health and Osteopathy

As a mother I have always felt very passionate about womens health conditions and have dedicated many hours studying and treating related  conditions, particularly to help mothers on their journey both during and after pregnancy.

During pregnancy the body undergoes many changes including softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to the posture. This in turn can place significant changes on the spine and pelvis.

I have studied the biomechanics of pregnancy, physiological conditions of pregnancy, postural issues related to breast feeding, bonding dynamics and pelvic floor rehabilitation. I will always work alongside your medical professionals such as your doctor or midwife and liaise with them if I have any concerns.

If you have any questions about how osteopathy can help during and after pregnancy or if you have any other issues you wouldlike to discuss please don’t hesiate to get in touch.
